MONTREAL -- Lumenon Innovative Lightwave Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: LUMM - message board) announced today that it will participate as an exhibitor at the European Conference on Optical Communications (“ECOC”) from September 9-11, 2002 in Copenhagen, Denmark (stand # 483).

At this year's event, Lumenon will showcase its current product offering of 100 and 200 GHz DWDM, 4 Channel CWDM, and Optical Channel Monitor (OCM) devices. The Company anticipates that these components, which have been targeted for both short haul and metro applications, have the capability to deliver optimal performance at a disruptive per-channel price.

“Our products are built around our PHASIC™ process technology platform. PHASIC employs simplified microfabrication steps that mimic semiconductor manufacturing automation in order to produce devices that are compact at a lower cost," said Mark Andrews, Lumenon's Co-Founder, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “Our process offers the capability for customized integration and scalability demanded by developers and integrators in order to meet future bandwidth capacity requirements,” he concluded.
