PROPERTY UPDATES, BRAZIL AND PERU Ballad Enterprises Ltd. announces that it has completed the initial phase of its exploration program on the Anaua concessions in Northern Brazil. On a grid which extends four kilometers in length along a major regional structure with cross lines two kilometers long spaced every 100 meters,a total of 390 hand-drilled samples of the saprolites were taken. The samples were collected at 50 meter intervals along the grid lines down to depths of between one and 20 meters. The grid covers an area previously mined by garimpeiros using hydraulic stripping and hand-panning techniques. Previous sampling of the saprolites has returned several gold values in excess of 2 g/t. Results are expected in a few weeks. Follow-up work will involve trenching and drilling. Ballad geologists have also conducted preliminary evaluation of 22 of the 35 property areas to be acquired from TVX Gold Inc. in Peru. Detailed follow-up work is currently underway on two of the property areas in the Pierina/Yanacocha district of northern Peru. In addition, detailed evalulation has been completed on the four Los Aguilas concessions which comprise approximately 3,800 hectares of the 9,900 hectare Arequipa Gold Project in southern Peru.
