I do agree on the our own weaponry bit. But like it or not, as long as we elect liberal governments we will not get our softwood-constructed jets built anywhere west of Rimouski. Don't laugh, the best plane of WWII was the 550 mph molded-plywood Mosquito fighter-bomber. It was built by a company called Fairey Marine, who also built the Firefly, a 12 foot molded-plywood sailing dinghy.

I have a feeling that the Merikans will not back down on this timber-limber-subsidy thingie any time soon. Our softie wood is a miniscule per cent of their market, from 2 to 18% depending on what class of products you name, so I think the whole brew ha-ha is just a ploy to allow Merikan companies into BC to develop condo land along the Fraser river. It's either that or they are after our soft water. Things in the south west aren't getting any wetter.

It is time we developed our own market for value added products made of wood. We don't make furniture. Matter of omitted fact, we hardly make anything at all in Western Canada.

What about jet propelled molded-plywood go-anywhere furniture?

C'mon people, I can't be the only one to come up with all the innovative solutions. We need to put our thinking caps on.
