Absolutely. Black and white literally and figuratively. Guilty people always break down and confess when you put your face in theirs. Hamilton Burger's suspect is never the one that did it. Good always triumphs in the end. Very comforting and reassuring. Predictability, that's what we all crave. And you are right, our nostalgic memories can be evoked by sight, sound, and even smell. Sometimes a rare and forgotten aroma can recall distant events.

(Not s--t, though). ;-)
