Sales of color display wireless handsets surpassed the monthly average of 1 million units in August, according to a report released by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. on Sept. 3.
After analyzing the sales performance in the local wireless handset market, Samsung Electronics revealed that demand for color display handsets stood at 1.489 million during the month of August, taking up 73 percent of the overall wireless handset market.
Color display handsets were first offered 15 months ago and are in steady demand.
By company, Samsung Electronics sold 632,000 units during the cited period, taking up 57.8 percent of the local market, followed by LG Electronics Co. with 249,000 units (23 percent) and Motorola with 109,000 units (9 percent). <<
