Applied Films Corporation Appoints Allen Alley to Its Board of Directors

LONGMONT, Colo., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Applied Films Corporation (Nasdaq: AFCO - News) today announced that Allen Alley, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Pixelworks, Inc. has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors.

"Mr. Alley is an excellent addition to our board," said Tom Edman, president and chief executive officer of Applied Films Corporation. "He brings tremendous insight into the underlying technologies that drive our business. Mr. Alley co-founded Pixelworks in January of 1997. Prior to founding Pixelworks, Mr. Alley was the Vice President of Corporate Development, Product Marketing and Engineering at InFocus Systems. He also served as co-CEO of the joint venture with Motorola called Motif. During his tenure as General Partner with Battery Ventures, Mr. Alley served on the InFocus Board of Directors from 1988 to 1992.
