I do not assume that an effort to cause "regime change" in Iraq is imperialistic, nor do I think that it is all about, nor even mainly about, Iraqi oil. However, to answer your question, no, an imperial adventure to acquire oil is not right. Being in the wrong is not equivalent to being a Nazi, however. Additionally, if there is a strategic question, for example, if a hostile power is trying to corner the market on oil, in order to cause economic dislocation, than "imperialism", if it be such, for oil is, in fact, justified. Since Saddam does have designs on Arabian reserves, and therefore might end up with more than a quarter of known reserves, the situation is dangerous. Nevertheless, I would prefer to rest a preemptive attack on the danger of his acquiring weapons of mass destruction.......
