jw or SIer or anyone who might know,

I know I sound like an idiot, but after everything is wired which computer am I setting this up with - the already existing WIN98 computer that has the dsl configurations, or the new computer (XP) that isn't configured - or does it not matter?

Also, while researching the BEFSR41 it says in it's directions "Before installing your router remove all proxy server software, fiewall software, and internet logon software from all your PC's."
Now my WIN98 has BlackIce and it has an ISP programs such as Compuserve (which I use rarely as a backup if the dsl is down). Do these have to be removed even if I set everything up on the new computer that doesn't have this?
