I think it should be called 'liberalism'. It's not a dirty word; why surrender it to the hard right that uses the word contemptuously?

(Btw, I dunno if 75% here would agree with your assertion. After all, I'm referring, in essence, to New Deal liberalism. Some of that proved a spectacular failure. But the WPA, CCC, food commodities program (which evolved into food stamps decades later), FDIC and Social Security represent some of its winning elements. Even today, some conservatives grouse over Social Security and others in my winners column.)
