long-gone, not only is it my opinion and the opinion of many people in my country, including Nobel-laureate Mandela, it is also the opinion of NATO and of former US President Carter (the references which I posted).

Since my views on most subjects have been posted here every day for years, I trust I don't need to prove that I am not a leftist nor am I anti-American. Indeed, I'm sure, neither is NATO. Although Carter is a Democrat, I don't think he needs to establish his bona fides as a concerned and true American leader.

Furthermore, I don't think Republican Ron Paul is a leftist?

Nor the people he cites?
"There is a military reason for not going to war. We ought to listen to the generals and other military experts, including Colin Powell, Brent Scowcroft, Anthony Zinni, and Norman Schwarzkopf, who are now advising us NOT to go to war. Some have even cautioned against the possibility of starting World War III. They understand that our troops have been spread too thin around the world, and it is dangerous from a purely military standpoint to go to war today."

> recent polls in the US show between 75-90% support for taking out Sadam

What does that mean? Who exactly was polled? Since Americans are involved and Americans will die, maybe a proper referendum amongst all Americans would be more to the point.

> before he gets us

With what?

The poison gas that the US and UK gave Saddam to spray on Iran 20 years ago when he was the "blue eyed boy" of the West?

Or is it nuclear weapons?

There isn't any evidence of those, either.

Frankly, I don't know what the present US administration is trying to achieve through this proposed war --- because whatever it is it will succeed in uniting nearly 1.5 billion Muslims under the leadership of the anti-West radicals while simultaneously alienating America from most of the rest of the world, including many of its former allies.

In my opinion and for what it's worth, no-one in history has done as much to damage the prestige and standing of the US in the world than its present "regime" --- and that includes all known enemies.
