ARGH- do you too believe the person is the post and the post is the person.

No. The person is a real person existing in 3D. The poster is a construct constructed by the real person, but may have a great deal or may have virtually nothing in common with the 3D person.

When a talk of the town writer writes "we went down to Battery Park yesterday . . ." who if anybody actually went down to Battery Park? When I wrote on Beltane "I am holding your hand and leading you shyly over to the mossy patch" was I actually taking anybody's hand? An I actually a shy person? Did the person I was writing to actually believe that we were going to have a physical romantic relationship? If they had met the 3D me is it likely that they would have come to the glade in the moonlight wearing only a diaphanous gown and wandered over to the mossy patch with me?

Did The Arteeste actually paint anything of value? Is the 3D person who called himself The Arteeste actually artistic? Or can't he draw worth a lick?

It's very hard for me to understand how Solon, who at one time I thought was reasonably intelligent, could not grasp this simple principle of the complete disconnect between the alias and the 3D person creating the alias.
