X it is perhaps true that a lot of important communication is non verbal, but text on SI is a form of communication. It might be limited but it is still communication between real people. Our ideas about the real people might be completly false but there is a real person posting this at the moment even if you only have vague and uncertain ideas about who that real person is or what he (or even she for all you know) is like.

Edit - The post is not the person and the person is not the post, but the person is communicating through the post and is responsible for the post. If you and I plan a terroist act using SI posts to communicate then we would be responsible for conspiracy to commit terrorism (we would also be idiots...) The FBI or whoever would come after us not our names or aliases, and we could be behind real not virtual bars.
