I don't need to tell myself that I've been there done that and I even have a T-shirt actually I have several SI T-shirts It doesn't have anything to do with comforting. I actually found it totally jarring to meet people who were so at odds with what I imagined them to be. I'd rather people had been what I imagined. But the world is not our fantasies. And we can't make it behave as if it is by stomping our feet. Whether real feet, or cyber feet.
