Dan, Not a chance. IBM stood idly by and let CPQ steal their market.

Dell has a lower cost than HPQ and sells direct, while HPQ clings to their lead anchor of a dealer base as it tries to swim alongside Dell.

HPQ can sell direct against Dell and offer the same prices to it's delaer base as the dealer base can buy from HPQ. That will soon get rid of the dealer base....which will go away anyaway as HPQ falls into the abyss.

Dell is in the position of soon being able to increase prices since no-one else is left standing.
