I agree that the Democrats have beent timid but when so many Americans were upset by 9/11, it was difficult to criticize Bush. I've read in today's paper that because of Bush's policies in the past year that many Europeans and others will be cynical and distrustful when Bush celebrates how 9/11 improved his indecisive and ignorant image. JMOP about W's image. While we are on the subject of Bush's image, Frank Rich has mentioned in several NYTimes columns that Bush is smart but Bush thinks we are dumb. I agree that Bush thinks we are dumb, but I wish someone would write Mr. Rich a letter and ask him to explain why he thinks Bush is smart.
