I don't trust any politicians much.

Neither do I, Pearly, Neither do I.

The USA and Britain have made a royal screw up of Iran since it's early attempt at democracy for example.

I have read a good bit, pro and con, on Iran's History since 1945. I have not been able to come up with a way things could have come out differently, based on the reality at the time.

Hindsight is 20/20, of course. The Shah would not give up some of his power to an assembly there, The Mullahs were virulent, The people really felt the shah had gone to far with his westernization. It was a recipe for disaster.
