TexasDude, it is so very easy to "categorize" folks by their race or religion. And even easier to insult someone over their religion. Even people of the same religion may hold very different views. For example, with my racial diversity and tolerant religous views you would not have expected me to be a Southern Baptist, but I am. Have to admit that I have problems with several of the SBC positions on tolerance and rights of women. (Although I am male, my mother, wife, and daughters are women.)

Looking back 150 years, the SBC did not approve of slavery for humans. They were very much against it. Their logic was even more sinister, they claimed that those of African or Indian descent were animals and thus subject to the same treatment as horses. "Manifest Destiny". A very ugly chapter in our history. The Cherokee "Trail of Tears" was perhaps worse than slavery, if that is possible. Given that my heritage includes each of those three groups, you can see why I react to intolerance with both anger and guilt.
