Nadine, I think you are dead right. This latest publicity stunt by the egomaniacal Ritter needs to be understood in a context other than the lightweight news coverage we normally get. His ego was recruited by the Israelis during the intrusive inspection regime to promote their interests while he thought he was playing spy for UNSCOM and most amusing is his big flip-flop to defend the Iraqis, who virtually held his inspection endeavors hostage to their interests and whims. This latest switch reminds me of the Stockholm Syndrome. All of this just reinforces my strong gut feeling about his judgment in my first of many contacts with him.
