In an earlier post I stated that it was my understanding that a sample of the "blowout" well taken before it was sealed was 31 gravity crude. I have since learned that "31 gravity" is pretty good quality oil. Now, I may have missed something but would one of our resident experts please tell me whether the term "31 gravity" applies to gas as well. Simple question: does "31 gravity" apply to the quality of oil or gas or both? A simple answer will suffice. Thank you.

Cheers...Faris

PS Another question: when Triton did the first seismic testing of the Columbia fields, what reading of potential reserves did they initially come up with and when was that first seismic test completed?
