There has been no significant volume on ARNA since the 2,105,900 traded on April 25, and the down-gap from that day has not been closed as yet. (the H on June 28 was only 8.50 and that was below the lower lip of the gap {8.60}the volume that day of 209,700 was above the daily average, but not really significant.)

Although the loss for the last Q and the 6 months was higher than in 2001 in spite of better revenues, I think it should also be noticed that the research and development expenses totaled $10.3 million in the Q compared to $5.2 million in 2001 and for the six months R&D expenses totaled $19.1 million as compared to $9.1 million in 2001.

They reported cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments of $208.8 million at June 30, 2002 or $7.54.share.

The net loss for the Q and first half also included non-cash amortization charges and an investment writedown, totaling $2.7 million and $3.8 million, respectively, which were higher than on 2001.

In the last 6 months 3 insiders reportedly bought 2.82 million shares while 4 insiders sold 195K and institutions reportedly bought 1.1 million shares in the last Q.

It seems ARNA has support at the 6.30 level and as you said plenty of overhang resistance, the first at 6.80 and then the August 15 H at 7,70 and the June 28 H at 8.50 before it can close the April 25 down-gap.
