bogus generalizations,

Win, I can usually get along with you, despite our differences. I have been trying to figure out what "sets you off," and I think I might have it.

You don't like the term "Left Wing" or "Left Winger" applied to you or your ideas. However, you are perfectly comfortable calling people who are to the right of you "Right Wing," "Right Wingers" or "Right Wings #@%^**+(whatever) :^).

I think this springs from our culture, specifically our Media. The Media uses all the "Right Wing" terms, all the time, without a blush, for people right of center. However, they practically never refer to people left of center by these terms. If they label them at all, they call them "Moderate" or "Liberal."

For instance, we have the "Religious Right," but never the "Atheist Left." Or even the "Religious Left." (Try the Unitarian Church for that bunch, if you don't think they exist.)

So having your views, posted here, called "Left Wing," and having yourself referred to as a "Left Winger," must be very upsetting to you. Sorry about that! :^)
