Afghanistan has been a "mess" for centuries, Karen. Any country that has been, and in most parts, continues to be run by "warlords" is a MESS! A few months of American help isn't going to magically fix centuries of "warlordism." Anyone who really thinks the situation will be "fixed" in less than years, really doesn't have a clue as to the problems there. Magic only happens on stage and in the movies. I personally think we as Americans should be very grateful for our Military who are over fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda in this forsaken place.
