They have (up to) 2.5 times the capacity of a 200meg Zip disk, and are supposed to work with any PC running ME, 2K, or XP without installing any additional hardware or sofware. If they replace floppies, Zip disks, etc, it would be a huge additional market for flash - and it would also be a lot more convenient for users.

It has the universal compatiblility of a floppy, with a 500 meg capacity - particularly for people who want to use an ultra light notebook (no internal floppy or CD-RW) it could be a godsend.

OTOH, these things have our security people quite nervous....
