The Democrats would have supported Clinton in the use of nuclear weapons back then, because they knew that if Clinton was impeached, their entire party would implode.

Clinton was impeached and his popularity and approval ratings afterwards exceeded those of Junior George. The Democrats gained seats in the next election. The impeachment managers from formerly safe seats are losing their seats instead. It would seem their analysis is weak, which is their standard.
