RR: My sister's wedding was awesome...

We were blessed with a long weekend of perfect weather (it was sunny each day and up in the low 80s)...We had about 275 family friends and relatives attend the outdoor wedding in an ampi-theater near our cottage on Lake Michigan...I read a Robert Frost poem that my grandfather was planning to read at the wedding. My younger brother wrote and performed a song for my sister and her new husband...it was amazing. My sister is so happy and so in love and that's what is important...Her new husband (Jay) is a great addition to our family and he seems to bring out the best in her...Jay's a real planner and helps them get to the important destinations...My sister (Julie) seems to help them enjoy the journey...=) Today they fly from Michigan to Bali and Singapore for a 2 week honeymoon...Jay kept it a secret until he came to the beach for some family pictures on the day of the wedding.

My parents were fortunate to have their entire wedding party (from 37 years ago) come to Michigan to help celebrate.

Overall, we had a great time...lots of re-connecting and reminiscing....enoungh good food for an army...dancing with my sister, my mother, my grandmother, many of my cousins, lots of bridesmaids...later in the evening the band took a break and my brother and a very close friend (who used to have an acoustic duo with him called 'Six String Sanity') pulled out their guitars and did some jamming -- they even played and sang an outstanding extending version of the song my brother wrote for my sister and her husband (its called 'You Know Me More Than Enough').

Yesterday, we had a brunch for family friends and relatives before they left town...then I spent the afternoon with my parents and my brother on the beach -- it was a great time to re-charge.

Hope you enjoyed the weekend.

regards,

-Scott
