haven't you've heard the saying: "from shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations"?

By the way, you'd be surprised who's sons have at least worked as janitors. For those who make it their life's work, being a janitor is probably most related to one's level of education. And on that point, IMHO, the United States, is one of the few countries where the level of education one receives is mostly a function of intelligence and desire (and not social standing). I do agree though, that where one starts, has alot to do with where one at starts on the ladder of success.
