So let's get this straight. When our boys ideologue about vague stuff like democracy, voting and self determination as a cause of war, it is imperialism and we should dummy up and stay home. Let the powers that free people from corrupt colonialismo, rebel as they may, from Bolivar, to Zapata to Ho to, well, Santa Anna, that lovable freedom fighter from Mayhico way gainst that damnable toady Crocket and his colonial slavemasters.
So lets examine some of the wars the US should never have fought. Mexico/Spain, San Salvador, Guatemala. Honduras, Panama, Cuba, Aruba, Civil, Revolutionary, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, 1812, Harpers' Ferry, Pirates on the east coast, Fr. shipping in the Gulf, James Gang, the Daltons, Apaches, Little Bighorn et al... and so on. What did I miss?
So who would rule the world? If the British had kept running North America, and they did not lose India, my guess is we would be speaking German and working as either farmer labourers in wheat fields for 1.25 an hour, or 10 dollars an hour manning machine guns as overseers in rice fields, depending on how we adapted to party politics. (Figure the 13 colonies would still be a farm colony like Canada and unable to do lend lease to save Britain's ass from the Germans. On a single front they would have creamed Stalin.) One thing is for sure. It wouldn't be any free government for long suffering paysonos from Tierra to the Panhandle. Bolivar notwithstanding.
