Re: Intel President Paul Otellini said Monday in an Intel Developers Forum interview here that clock rate frequency isn't everything in evaluating microprocessors, as part of an expanded look at the upcoming Banias notebook chip.
Banias will debut in the first half of 2003 at a 1.6GHz clock rate, below the 2GHz frequency of the current Pentium 4M mobile processor. But Otellini said Banias will allow much longer battery life, smaller form factor notebooks, and seamless connectivity.
