Not the least tiny bit sarcastic there, eh, Nadine?

From Webster's: sarcasm n. 1. a taunting, sneering, cutting, or caustic remark; gibe or jeer, generally ironical. 2. The making of such remarks. 3. The characteristic quality of such remarks.

Nope, nothing sarcastic there at all. And if you'll notice, I didn't just call her remarks idiotic, I singled out the aspect of them that I found the most idiotic, namely, her assumption that any non state actor is so diffuse as to be unable to make war or to be warred on. No taunts, no jeers, no irony. Calling an opinion idiotic is not sarcasm. It can certainly be insulting, and it should be backed up with reasons (that's the bit lacking in your posts), but it's not sarcasm.

No wonder you have so much trouble with the concept; you don't even use the word right.
