you have the processor wars, and the PPC continues to loose, and now no 9.x on new machines. One step forward one step back.

i must have miss-typed that 1.5 ghz, i meant to type 1.25 ghz, as that site clearly shows.... a PPC does not lose when even a single 1.25 Ghz chip is beating a 2.8 P4... (the site clearly states that they are disabling the altivec instructions, which give G4's 30% of their speed.....) all pro applications for the mac worth their salt ship using altivec instructions... and pro macs don't even ship with a single CPUs........

that link is for SINGLE processors... the Dual 1.25 Ghz machine clearly is superior to a single 2.8 machine......

Possibly, except 1GHz is the fastest Mac chip available now
actually the 1.25 Ghz powerPC G4 chip's are shipping now..... along with the 2.8 Ghz P4 chips, a P4 machine though with a 2.8 would take more than a week to get, and a Mac with a 1.25 mhz chip will take more than 3 weeks to get.....

two weeks apart, is not going to make the difference to a pro user trying to buy the fastest machine....
