McAuliffe Trips on Cheney Attack Over 9-11 Limbaugh Interview

Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe attacked Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday for scheduling a 9-11 interview with talk radio mega star Rush Limbaugh, apparently unaware that the interview had to be postponed due to the heightened security alert.

"Unfortunately, Vice President Cheney has chosen to do an interview on September 11th with one of the most partisan and divisive figures in American politics, Rush Limbaugh," McAuliffe said, in a statement that was still posted to the DNC website by midday Wednesday, 24 hours after Limbaugh announced the cancellation.

McAuliffe continued hammering away at Cheney for granting the non-existent 9-11 Limbaugh interview.

"Vice President Cheney cheapens the day when he appears with an irresponsible and divisive figure like Rush Limbaugh," the DNC chief bellyached. "All Americans have the right to expect more from Vice President Cheney on this sacred day. I urge him to reconsider this misguided interview."

Shortly after yesterday's Orange status heightened security alert was announced, the White House said that Cheney would be moved to a secure undisclosed location.

Limbaugh informed his audience that the security precaution would mean the Cheney interview would have to be rescheduled for later in the week.

Funny they are criticizing McAuliffe for having his date wrong but see no issue with Cheney on Limbaugh. Guess the Administration needs to rustle up their poll numbers by appealing to the Limbaugh audience.

John where are you?
