A shift to more rapid development of the enormous reserves represented by the Canadian tar sands would drastically reduce our dependence on the Persian Gulf for our energy needs.

There's absolutely no reason for our economy to be held hostage to continued dependence on this tinder box region, other than......

Because of the shocking incompetence that we see over and over from the endless parade of fiascos and screw ups that have become the hall mark on almost every agency and department in our bloated and sometimes paralyzed Federal government.

Not trying to rattle your cage, my friend. (Will save that for my favorite targets). But, you never seem to talk about investments anymore. Every post you make is off topic and largely political. Not trying to discourage that. You have one of the finer political acumens on SI. And always find your posts insightful and worth reading.

But would like to also hear about you work in the energy industry awa investment thoughts, for time to time.

We have a lot of new folks that've arrived at SD II, in recent months. Most of them aren't familiar with your diverse and versatile background.
