OT - A friend gave me a list of charities which meet tests used by the Better Business Bureau. One of the standards is that a charity must pay out at least 50% of what it collects. This is appalling to me. Surely there are charities which do much better than that and the thought that many do worse than that makes me think that we need a change in the law. I have seen numbers that the Salvation Army has an extremely high pay-out number like 99%. This tells me that if that is an accurate number then all charities should be able to do at least 95%. FWIW in connection with your review of charities. I would be interested in any light your work sheds on this subject.
