Is Fidelity one of those MF companies who registers securities in a different name, so they can actualy short against investors long interests?

Is this a root cause of an industry wide phenomena?

Investors invest through MF and brokers LONG and with hope for a rising stock price, only to have their investments used by those they invest with, to be short the market, or by those who make shares of customer accounts available for Fees, to the hedge industry against the original investment purpose. Ethics be damned I guess.

No One seems to be talking about this issue as a conflict of interest, either, it's troubeling that while we just learn about the bubble scandels, a proportionate scandle is underway, just using other tool sets.

Folks on SI are traders and show little concern for this abuse of responsibility. Is it possible that the Mutual fund industry is weakening as a result of actions they themselves are principle too?

Supply imbalances should create favorable price structure on investment yields, but rules allow shorts to run the trade out of balance depriving investors of proper market pricing.

Rationalizations are too many to mention, but for investors they get the stink all over them just for showing up. It's beyond the pale that Supply and demand can be so utterly manipulated to the ends of the few.
