Gold Reserve pleased with Las Cristinas development.

Gold Reserve, the company that operates the Las Brisas mine next to Las Cristinas, is pleased that the Venezuelan Guayana Corporation (CVG) has finally settled its long-running Las Cristinas controversy by choosing Crystallex to operate and develop the mine. Gold Reserve is proposing that the two projects should now be combined to benefit from economies of scale.

The company says it has held meetings with the Energy & Mines (MEM) Ministry and initial responses have been favorable.
CVG president, Major General (ret.) Francisco Rangel Gomez said last year that "CVG's intention is to unify the ore bodies of Las Brisas and Las Cristinas to carry out a macro-mining project that will allow the generation of sustainable employment and development in the zone."
