N E W   Y O R K, Sept. 11 — Baltimore police are investigating eight men for possible connections to terrorist outfits.

The men were picked up after police raided their apartment Tuesday night to serve one of the men with a warrant for arson.

ABCNEWS has learned that the police raid also turned up dozens of passports, phony IDs, photographs of New York's Times Square and Union Station in Washington, D.C., and notebooks filled with Arabic writing and literature on jihad. Police are also said to have found two computers with links to a Web site called beapilot.com, which links to 1,700 flight schools.

Five of the men are being detained on immigration warrants while law enforcement officials continue to check for possible ties to terrorist groups.

Sources tell ABCNEWS one of the eight men is the subject of a federal probe into money laundering.
