The hardest part is not knowing and being dependent on the slow pace of the process that doctors go through eliminating this and that.

I'm sure you're aware of the independent CT screening centers that are popping up all over - I know there's a couple in your neighborhood. You can have a full body scan without having a doctor's referral. They're expensive and not covered by insurance, but so what. It's fairly new technology and there are doctors that are wary of the scan because they don't understand it fully. Radiologists understand them but a cardiologist might not. There's nothing harmful about them and it takes about 5 minutes to get the scan - no preparation, no pain, and you don't have to put on one of those silly gowns. It shows more than an MRI or PET scan. Let me know if you'd like more information.
