Scary correlation there, I admit. As for the market, I'm beginning to wonder what kind of reaction he's going to get to formally telling the world on the UN record that he and Blair are going to attack Iraq whether the rest of the planet wants to go along with the idea or not.

Not exactly in the art of high diplomacy.

I particularly wonder about the Japanese reaction in the bond markets, especially if they start to ponder the notion that maybe this isn't going to be the 5 day war it's being cracked up to be, because that means the US will really be piling on the deficits.

The Japanese are already edgy about this, plus they have their own problems that may require some serious repatriation of capital activity. If it is perceived that this war may not go as planned, they might decide to pull out now while the pulling out is still good price-wise.
