Yes, I think that Jacoby has it about right. Knowing the ideology behind the attacks, and given their grotesquerie, deliberately bringing about the indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, including children, there should not be much confusion about who the bad guys are. Also, one gets sick of the resistance to patriotism, as if love of one's homeland were a grave flaw......
