Richanfamus, Re: The delays are occurring to accommodate the release of a new version of Athlon with a 333MHz bus, said Crank.

That's of course PR-BS. I wonder what the real reasons for the delays are? I can understand the Barton delay since it will be AMD's first outsourced CPU. But what about Hammer? Is AMD still having problems getting decent clock-speeds? A whole quarter delay means that there must be some serious problems. In this case Hammer won't contribute to the bottom line until Q2 in any meaningful way which means there will be at least three more quarters of losses.

Rival Intel, meanwhile, is continuing to push the gas pedal on the Pentium 4. A 3GHz version will debut this quarter, the company said this week.

This quarter would indicate a later September launch. I thought it wasn't supposed to ship until November?
