You'd better hope they don't - AMD would get picked up by somebody with deep pockets and marketing power and then Intel would finally have some real competition.

How about if GE picks up AMD for pocket change and invests $7.5 Billion into its FABs?

Or what if UMC or VIA picks up AMD and makes it the chip of choice for Asian OEMs?

Be careful what you wish for....
