Chris Tom of amdzone.com has some info on Hammer dalay:

heyeaux let me know about this Bloomberg story claiming that Hammer has been delayed until late Q1 or early Q2 of 2003 according to John Crank of AMD. I will try and confirm this news asap. Update: I have confirmed with Damon of AMD that this info is indeed correct. Clawhammer is delayed until late Q1 or early Q2, and Barton is delayed until Q1 of 2003. Cory Vieira let me know that the Wall Street Journal has details on the delay as well.
Crank wouldn't specify the reason for the delay.
"I will say that it doesn't reflect any significant problem with the processor," he said. "We feel very confident with our product roadmap."

So AMD is juggling things and say that it is not due to process issues. Damon also informed me that part of the reason they are delaying the CPUs is the new MHz jump they have tweaked from the Thoroughbred Athlon core. Finally we have a submission from yeneroglu about this CNet story on the Hammer delay

I don't know, it sounds very convoluted. Why would AMD delay Hammer as a reaction to improved clock speed of Tbred?
