Hi there Patrick,

I just walked into my local pharmacy and asked the pharmacist. Yes, they block the uptake of radiation into the thyroid glad, supposedly heading off thyroid cancer.

If you're interested in buying some (mine were 200 pills for $20), PM me and I'll send some to you.

Hopefully we'll never have to use them.
