Jerome,
Appreciate your answer whew! and am sorry for the Poland and nukes reference. You spent all morning trying to get me going so i retaliated. I am for peace in the Mideast in three years after palesinian reforms, an end to terror and then an end to settlements and withdrawl by israel from the west bank. But if there is no end to terror and no change in the PA, then Cary's plan for expulsion will happen eventually. The Palestinians always accept the last peace offer a couple of years too late. Its time for them to be timely. Some good first steps have occurred in recent days.
Re: the informal alliance i proposed to contain saddam in the future if we dont take action now--Israel, Turkey and Iran--was the same allliance during the cold war used to offset the soviets. They worked together well--turks, persians and jews. If Iran move away from the clerics i suspect a private understanding could work. I wasnt saying the US should increase aid--perhaps a democratic iran would need arms to better defend itself. Mike
