It always helps to remember that the lines /odds are a device used by the sports books to even out the money on betting.The sports books or bookies make their money on the vigorish....the surcharge for placing the bet.They have no intention of trying to actually guess the winner per se.

Even out the bets.....collect the vig....easy money...no risk.
