The company, which has a gene-based product for detecting biological agents such as anthrax, is expected by one analyst to sign a contract with the U.S. Postal Service in the next 2-3 months. The Postal Service is currently testing the equipment, which the Rodman & Renshaw analyst expects will be in use by mid-2003. He sees Cepheid making money by 2006.
