Upal- I am looking into lot of good companies and I hope this will take me few
days.

Dell has intrigued me, I have neglected this excellent distributor with a cap in
excess of 24billion$'s although it was part of my holdings but I prematurely got rid
of it.

I keep my investment universe quite limited and now a days concentrating on
IBM. I expect that IBM beats first call estimates by a big margin, I think we should
see earnings in excess of 1.48 going forward IBM should make 8$-9$
conservatively with an upside of even possible 10-11$ in 1998, this were if I am
right Prudential projections somewhere around in April 1997. Future explosive
growth is still not built in the price once market wakes up to it we may see IBM
closing 1997 around 140-45$.

MSFT has outperformed S&P by 400%+ whereas IBM has so far been modestly
up only by +5% in comparison to S&P, in terms of performance IBM should do
well and has lot of upside room unlike MSFT. It was based on this I made my
recommendation a week earlier than Abby Cohen; the day I came out technically
IBM was severely overbought and MM's were trying to let July's expire worthless
but I stood my ground and was sure that my numbers make sense. To be honest I
have recd so many letters of thanks from people who have made money on INTC
IBM, my two plays during last week.

I think IBM even after the numbers will be a good play, TXN ran up before the
numbers but it did come with an upside surprise and had a decent post-earnings
run. INTC and CPQ even MSFT all beat the market the later only by a cent but
expectations were 85 they could come up there but I think Gates personaly
punctured 'irrational gloss' from the numbers. He must have realized that beating
market would take the stock far ahead of itself making it difficult to fulfill future
expectations, he has a clout and can pull such 'accounting sleight of hand'.

IBM is in different category it is not trading at a lofty multiple like MSFT. Reports
trickling from leasing and main frames are good I think even soft PC sales last time
would now show some strength and $ translation adjustment like SUNW if any
will have a good impact.

So for me stage is set for an upward break if it disappoints you will certainly have
a chance to own IBM at a much lower level but do own it - big blue is bubbling to
pop up. I hope it happens with a bang not a whimper.
