Good observation about the RWEs total lack of content. It gets so bad some times that when I posited a hypothetical about how a madman pResident could use a terrorist incident to declare martial law that one clown pasted headline across SI claiming that I was proposing to be a terrorist. The only way he could come up with that is to maliciously mis-read what I had posted.

Here's an interesting article about Seattle, penned by one of my heroes, Tom Hayden. From the dirty tricks department, we find that the recent "Rolling Thunder Down Home Democracy Tour" was sabotaged by somebody putting up erroneous "no parking available" signs around the festival site, in order to deter attendance.

Locally, the head of our Chamber of Commerce ambushed the Democratic candidate for Governor by inviting him to a "debate" at the last minute. When the candidate declined because of a schedule conflict, the Chamber President lied to the media and the public about the situation. Twisting the truth and saying the candidate was disrespecting democratic processes. The "dirt" stuck, unfortunately. As I was canvassing for the Dems, one fellow who got snookered by the ploy was quite agitated by the candidate's supposed snub. Lying works. That's why the Repuglicans do it with such zeal.
