They are nice words. He did not get elected by being a politician who said impolitic things, whether or not he said them well. He seemed like a moderate. It is hard to connect the man here with his real political persona or his job for the liberal party under Trudueau, which was basically discrediting conservative politicians with anything they could get on them. Of course you could say, that is politics, everyone does that. Hardly less skullduggery than the republican dirty tricks squad.

An example of the latest liberal squashing of a private citoyen, was the treatment by the press of the actor from law and order who was up here trying to talk up a Canadian republican party as an conservative alternative. Every time he turned around the press had him getting thrown out of some bar, or attacking some women or other. People do not see that as an "op". How could it be? They spend considerable energy making these kind of ops happen.

Come to think of it, it isn't that hard to ply an Irishman with drinks and start a fight ;) For people who do them for a living it isn't that hard. Randoph Hearst would know.
