David, These IR departments have to tread with care. They cannot reveal anything new to you....unless they tell the world through the news dissemination channels the SEC mandates for news releases.
They can answer mundane questions, whose answers can be gleaned from publicly available data, but no 'news' will ever come from them.
You would be better off posting your questions here for an answer, one you are far more likely to get.
